P:R Redesign: Denis Medri’s 1950s Batman!

taken from project rooftop

P:R Redesign: Denis Medri’s 1950s Batman!:
Note: In recent Batman stories we’ve seen renditions of how Batman would have appeared in past historical times, but after seeing this submission by Denis Medri I feel like DC missed out on something big time. Hailing from Italy, this artist dreamt up a 1950s greaser Batman that is startling at how great it is. “Greaser Batman” might seem pretty cliche, but seeing Medri’s illustration here it comes off as a no-brainer. And check out that souped up Batmobile! – Chris A.

Mark Vick’s Batman Beyond!

taken from : P:R Approved: Mark Vick’s Batman Beyond!:
Note:In recent years many of the official super-hero redesigns have leaned into hyper-detailed realism: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But this design by video game character artist Mark Vick of the Batman from Batman Beyond really showed you when it can work. – Chris A.

Andy Trabbold’s Wonder Twins!

link from P:R Redesign: Andy Trabbold’s Wonder Twins!:
Note: They’re arguably the most memorable twins in super-hero comics, but they’re also one of the most strange. Originally created for DC’s late-70s animated show The All-New Super Friends Hour, artist Andy Trabbold gives the twins a more serious visage.  - Chris A.

Here’s what Andy had to say about the designs:
I wanted them to feel more alien but still keep the feel of Zann and Jayna. The colors are close to their original outfits but darkened a tad. The suits are similar but not identical- after all, they’re twins, not clones. In regards to the chest symbols: I always dug the idea that Superman’s S symbol is actually the symbol for the House of El that happens to resemble a human letter. I did the same here- the twin’s chest symbols are alien markings that resemble earth language letters.

P:R Approved: Igor Kieryluk’s Gotham 1459!

P:R Approved: Igor Kieryluk’s Gotham 1459!:

Note: In recent years we’ve seen Batman pop up throughout human history, but this arresting rendition by artist Igor Kieryluk takes the cake. Taking the denizens of Gotham City back 553 years and moving them to Europe, Kieryluk gives us a stunning rendition of what the Dark Knight would be if he was actually a knight. – Chris A.

Sukhoi Pak Fa – the first Russian stealth superfighter

Sukhoi Pak Fa – the first Russian stealth superfighter:

Sukhoi Pak Fa will be the first Russian 5th generation superfighter. Military officials promised to show its first prototype in 2009 and to start the production in 2010. There is still not much information about this jet, but it’s said it could be even better then US F-22 Raptor. Those concepts are made by Russian industrial designer Aleksander Dultsev. Unfortunately, the real Sukhoi Pak Fa will not be that cool.
